Mokokchung is one of the 11 administrative districts of Nagaland with its headquarters located at Mokokchung town. It is bounded by the state of Assam to its north, district of Wokha to its west, Tuensang to its east, and Zunheboto to its south. The physiographic of the district consists of six distinct hill ranges. Mokokchung district is home to the Ao Naga tribe.
